Daily Prayer and Declaration

Dear Heavenly Father, I praise You and honor You as my Lord and Savior. You are in control of all things. I thank You that You are always with me and will never leave me nor forsake me. You are the only all-powerful and only wise God. You are kind and loving in all Your ways. I love You and thank You that I am united with Christ and spiritually alive in Him. I choose not to love the world or the things in the world, and I crucify the flesh and all its passions.

Thank You for the life I now have in Christ. I ask You to fill me with the Holy Spirit so that I can be guided by You and not carry out the desires of the flesh. I declare my total dependence on You, and I take my stand against Satan and all his lying ways. I choose to believe the truth of God's Word despite what my feelings may say. I refuse to be discouraged; You are the God of all hope. Nothing is too difficult for You. 1 am confident that You will supply all my needs as I seek to live according to Your Word. I thank You that I can be content and live a responsible life through Christ who strengthens me.

I now take my stand against Satan and command him and all his evil spirits to depart from me. I choose to put on the full armor of God so that I may be able to stand firm against all the devil's schemes. I submit my body as a living and holy sacrifice to You, and I choose to renew my mind by Your living Word. By so doing I will be able to prove that Your will is good, acceptable and perfect for me. In the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.

Some daily prayers by Jack Hayford:

Holy Father God,

I come to wait quietly before You.

The spirit of the age would press my pace

beyond the wisdom of waiting.

It would tell me if I don't hurry, I can't get ahead.

But I hear You calling me to quietness as I pray in Jesus' name,

taking my place upon the sure foundation

You have laid for my life in Him.

I come in prayer to affirm this day,

"My hope is built on nothing less!"

Establish my steps today, dear Lord.

Let the fruit of my life be enduring

because my steps are ordered within Your counsels.

In the name of my Sure Foundation I pray—

Your Son,

my Savior.

I'm so glad that I'm joined to You.

What confidence I am privileged to enjoy, Lord Jesus,

since You have made me one with Yourself.

And, according to the Father's word,

I am complete in You!

I enter this day, with its challenges,

its problems,

its unknowns.

I enter it linked to You.

I acknowledge You as my Head—

able to direct me,

ready to protect me,

certain to help me, and

faithful to nurture me.

With praise to You, the doorway to today opens' before me,

and I have no hesitation about walking forward.

Each step is directed by You—my living" Head—

my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,

In Your name.                          '

Dear Lord,

There seem to be so many times I am swallowed up

by the discouraging sense of my own second-ratedness.

I try so hard and do so poorly.

I start so well and end so quickly.

I give it my best and discover it isn't enough.

And so I come to You, the Savior of my soul

You who have so completely saved me that nothing of my own failure or sin could restrict the unlimited power of Your salvation.

Come to me now.

Come in the excellency of the brightness

of Your glorious person and fill my life.

At those points where my own handicap, restrictions, or

mediocrity prevail,

come in the excellence of Your nature and power.

I choose You today.

I receive the resources of Your excellence

as my source, my supply and my shelter.

I both receive and take refuge in Your completeness.

Thank You, Jesus.

My todays can't be mediocre anymore.

Your excellence is beginning to overflow around me. Amen.
